Sunshine Skyway Clouds

It's warm and humid here in central Florida and this evening the clouds were heavy and thick. So I headed over to the Skyway Bridge to capture this. As I was here some dolphins swam by, ships passed under the bridge, and pelicans looked for scraps from the fishermen. All in all, just another lazy Sunday evening.

Beauvert Lake

Beauvert Lake is in Jasper National Park, Alberta. Quiet, serene, picturesque. The perfect place to get away, relax and rent a canoe.

Pure and Simple

I’m always trying to simplify things. I work and live in a complex world and what helps is if I can simplify the complexity a bit. I do this by removing things that I feel are unnecessary. In this case, I removed as many distractions as possible. More on the blog:

Leaving Port

Not too long ago I found myself leaving out of a port on a ship. This is my impression from the back of the ship with the lights of Barbados in the distance and the full moon as it reflected on the ocean. Moments like this are few and fleeting and I like to think that if I can capture the essence of a moment with an image, then I can go back to it from time to time.

When I move too fast and fail to notice the world around me it all becomes a blur and I have little if any memories of the time and spaces I’ve been through.

Chesterman After Glow

I took this from Chesterman Beach near Tofino in British Columbia. It's no wonder so many artists live in the area, no matter where you look there is some icon of nature waiting to be painted, carved or sculpted. If you look there's beauty wherever you go, but here on Vancouver Island it jumps right out at you. Very little effort required.

Two Cathedrals

This is a composite of the inside of two cathedrals in Barcelona. One is the gothic Cathedral of Barcelona and the other is the post gothic Sagrada Família designed by Antoni Gaudi. The two edifices could not be more different. The only thing they have in common is they are Roman Catholic. Read more on the blog: European Gallery: Abstract Gallery:

Winter Tree

I've had this picture for a while, it's one of those that I never get around to posting but really like. I was surprised to find that some people think this is a scary picture. That thought never even occurred to me, but then I suppose that's the whole point of art, it evokes emotions in the eyes of the beholder. In any case, this is my tribute to winter and even though it's a few days before the official start, most people in the northern hemisphere have experienced winter for some time. And that just might be a scary thought indeed.

Arrowtown Afternoon

The little village of Arrowtown New Zealand in the autumn. There were so many warm colors all around that it seems like they all ran together. Perhaps they did as they imprinted in my brain a most fond memory.

All Work and No Play

A section of downtown Vancouver BC with a touch of Florida in the reflection. Must be me day dreaming when I should be at work.

Up In The Sky

Vancouver has so many opportunities for going crazy with buildings. Ans so I did just that. But one day I would love to try the architecture in Germany. One day.

We Are Never Alone

At times we need to be alone with the elements. Something about that reminds us that in fact, we are never truly alone.

Solitude At Dawn

I get up early because I find solitude at dawn, more so than any other time of day. The energy is fresh and going for a walking or doing something alone informs the rest of my day. (read more about this photo on the blog at ) Beach:

Post Holiday Colors

Vancouver Impressions The idea I had I’m my mind when I took this was a cacophony of colors all blurred together. The motion represents the energy of the city. This is just one of the many faces of Vancouver city life. Read more on the blog: Abstract Gallery:

When I Was Young

When I was young I remember playing late into the evening during the summer. The days were long and it gave my friends and I an opportunity to stay out late, it was an amazing feeling. It’s strange because I never really thought about it until recently. I suppose this image reminds me of that just a little… more on the blog:

Central Foyer

This is the central foyer of the Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas. I took this early one morning which is the only time that no people are present. The central column is about eight stories high. I found this perspective through a glass portal at the very top. Anyway, my impression of these ships is one of awe, how they build them is way beyond my ability to comprehend. More:
